Larry was born on December 31, 1947 in Atlanta, GA. He has one younger brother. Diane was born on December 2, 1946 in Lithonia, GA. She has one younger sister.
Larry & Diane were introduced by Diane's cousin, Judy. Judy's parents were hoping Judy would marry Larry, but God had other plans! Larry graduated from Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI, on May 12, 1972, and they were married four days later on May 16, 1972. Their marriage has produced one daughter and one granddaughter.
Larry first retired as a Navy Commander. His latest retirement was from Naval Air Depot as a Process Engineer. Larry's hobbies are running, camping, fishing and kayaking. His favorite scripture is John 3:16. His advice to others: "Always keep your eyes on Jesus, He will never let you down. Man can provide some of your greatest disappointments." Larry says; his parents had the greatest influence on his life. Also, Pastor Morris Wright, Key West Baptist Temple, who was his first pastor. "He instilled in me the building blocks of the Christian faith."
Diane retired from working as a secretary for the Government for many years and later for a property management company. Diane enjoys reading and playing with that granddaughter, Taylor. Diane's favorite scripture is Ephesians 2:8. Her advice to others: "Have a joyful heart and trust God to see you through life's trials. Diane says; her parents had the greatest influence on her life. "They lovingly dedicated their lives to raising my sister and me."
Larry and Diane are faithful members at Buford Grove. Larry serves as a Door Greeter and Usher.
